Once again, the Hype9ja team caught up with the beautiful, sexy and talented Italian-Nigerian singer and model Zara. Born Isiuwa Aigbogun in Milan, Italy to Nigerian parents, she started out as an athlete before a fatal injury stopped her sporting career. Zara started to sing as early as age 15.
Influenced by musical greats like Nina Simone, Lauren hill, Asa, Ibeyi, Aretha franklin, 2face Idibia and Fela, Zara who speaks fluent Italian, decided to pursue a proffessional musical career.
Although she was born and bred in Italy and currently shuffles between Torino and London, Zara didn’t forget her Nigerian root. She visits Nigeria regularly and has worked with some Nigerian producers like Benin City based Choco Jay and son of the legendary music icon, sir Victor Uwaifo.
Zara who previously goes by the stage names Ms Isy and Isy Miyankee has recently changed her stage name to Zara after signing for Fred Entertainment, working alongside music group, Two Tigers.
Zara describes her music genre as Afrosoul/soul, dancehall and italian music. Asked who she would love to work with in the future, she said, “I hope to work with Asa, Nneka, 2Baba and Ibeyi in the future.”
Zara has various sides which she likes to flaunt and is evident in her fashion style. Apart from music, she describes herself as a lover of Zara and Addidas, does street modelling and casual photo shoots.
Zara is currently on new projects that will shake the music space soon.
